Lowe Leads GW Golf at ODU/OBX Intercollegiate

POWELLS POINT, N.C. -- Logan Lowe led the GW golf team with a T-28th finish as the Colonials closed out their fall slate at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon.

Lowe shot a 6-over 219 (70-74-75) in the 54-hole event for his third top-30 finish in five events this season. He was also T-7th at the Marshall Invitational in September and had a career-best T-6th showing last week at the Elon Phoenix Invitational, for which he was named Atlantic 10 Co-Golfer of the Week.

Juniors Vince Palazzolo and Jack Porcelli were second and third for the Colonials. Palazzolo shot an 11-over 224 (74-73-77) to finish T-45th while Porcelli shot 17-over 230 (73-81-76) and was T-66th. Redshirt junior Christian Cichan (79-85-75=239) and senior Lucas Farmer (81-80-80=241) finished T-84th and T-88th, respectively.

The Colonials took 15th place as a team with a 907 (296-308-303). Campbell was crowned team champion for the second straight year by firsing a 7-under 845, edging out host Old Dominion which had a 6-under 846.

GW’s spring season opens on Feb. 20, 2017, with the Atlantic 10 Match Play Championship in Miami.
