Golf's Lewis Sturdy Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

WASHINGTON, DC -- George Washington freshman Lewis Sturdy (Keston, Kent, England/Tonbridge) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for men's golf, the conference office announced Monday. It marked the first A-10 weekly honor for the freshman drom England.

Sturdy shot a 78-77-77 (232) to tie for 28th place among 84 golfers in the Hargrove B. Davis Spring Classic, Monday and Tuesday, at the 6,703-yard, par-72 Keith Hills Country Club in Buies Creek, NC. The Colonials placed fourth out of 15 teams.

The Colonials' next competition is Mar. 14 when they meet Youngstown St. in a Spring Break match at Mesquite, NV.
