WASHINGTON, DC -- George Washington's Cole Turner (Marion, IN/Lakeview Christian Academy) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for men's golf, the league office announced Monday.

Turner shot a 10-over-par 154 (79-75) at the GW Invitational Saturday-Sunday. The 36-hole tournament, hosted by The George Washington University, was held at the par-72, 6,834-yard Bear Trap Dunes Golf Course on the Delaware Shore. Turner played the par 3 holes at one-under-par averaging 2.88 strokes on the par-3 holes. His score placed him in a tie for 41st place out of 120 individuals.

The freshman from Marion, IN, sports a 78.5 stroke average.

Next up for the Colonials is Navy Spring Invitational, April 6-7, at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis, MD.
