Golf's Federico Guzman Wins A-10 Co-Rookie Honors

Freshman Shoots Even Par in First Round of Navy Invitational

WASHINGTON, DC - GW's Federico Guzman (Bogota, Colombia/Colegio Nueva Granada) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference co-Rookie of the Week for men's golf, the league office has announced. He shares this week's honor with Fordham's Jesse Clark.

Guzman carded an 86 at the rain-shortened GW Invitational on Mar. 31, placing 53rd among 108 golfers at Swan Point Country Club in Issue, MD. The Colonials finished fourth in the 22-team field.

Guzman closed the week with a GW-best 145 over 36 holes, including an even-par 70, in placing 11th of 115 golfers at the Navy Spring Invitational, Saturday and Sunday, in Annapolis, MD. GW finished eighth of 23 teams.

GW plays at the Princeton Invitational, April 11-12, before hosting the Rehoboth Beach Invitational April 14.
