Golf's Brian Carroll Named A-10 Co-Rookie of the Week

Freshman Honored For Second Straight Week

WASHINGTON, DC - GW's Brian Carroll (Crystal Lake, IL/Crystal Lake South) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week for men's golf, the league office has announced. It marks his second straight Rookie of the Week award and third of the season. The freshman from Illinois also won the honor on Oct. 21, 2002 and April 21. He shares this week's honor with Dayton's Adam Myers.

Carroll tied for seventh among 70 golfers at the URI Newport Invitational at Newport National Golf Club, April 25-26, in Middletown, RI. He carded a three-over 75 at the rain-shortened URI Spring Invitational, April 25. His effort helped the Colonials to a third-place tie in the 13-team field.

GW next competes in the Atlantic 10 Golf Championship, May 2-4, at the NCR Country Club in Dayton, OH.
