WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington seniors Cole Turner and Max Hamm were named the MVP for Men's Golf and the SAAC Senior Male Athlete Academic Award winner at GW's Senior Honors Luncheon Thursday on the GW campus.

Turner is second on the team this season with a 75.2 stroke average. He matched the school record for low single-round score with a four-under 66 in the ODU Seascape Tournament in October and also posted a five-under 67 on the most difficult course in the state of New York at the Turning Stone Intercollegiate in September. He has one Top-5 finish, four Top-10 finishes and eight Top-20 finishes in 11 tournaments played this season. His head-to-head Won-Loss record stands at 574-171 for this season and 1,414-699 for his career.

Hamm was named the winner of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) Senior Male Athlete Academic Award with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.88.

A senior from Weisbaden, Germany, Hamm has become a reliable scorer for the golf team during his four years at GW. Off the course, he excels as an international business major, being named to the Athletic Department Dean's List six semesters, including a perfect 4.0 GPA in both the Spring 2008 and Spring 2009 semesters.

Turner, Hamm and the rest of the Colonials are at the Atlantic 10 Conference Golf Championship Friday through Sunday, April 30-May 2, at the Mission Inn Golf Resort near Orlando, FL.
