Golf's Carroll Named To A-10 Academic All-Conference Team

May 11, 2004

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington's Brian Carroll has been named to the Atlantic 10 Conference Academic All-Conference Team for men's golf, the league office announced Tuesday. The sophomore from Crystal Lake, IL, maintains a 3.62 GPA as a finance major.

Carroll, whose 75.5 stroke average leads the Colonials, has five Top-10 finishes and a pair of Top-20 finishes in tournaments this season. He twice carded his low round of the year (71) and recorded his low 36-hole tournament score of the season, a 144, in the GW Invitational.

Carroll has won five A-10 weekly honors in his brief two-year career at GW. He was a three-time Rookie of the Week as a freshman last season and picked up two Performer of the Week awards this season.

He is a member of the GW Athletic Dept. Dean's List and the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll both years. He also was the golf team representative on GW's Student-Athlete Advisory Council.
