Golf's Friedlander Named to A-10 Academic All-Conference Team
May 13, 2003 WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington's Brad Friedlander (Baltimore, MD/Pikesville H.S.) has been named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team for men's golf, in voting conducted among the Conference's Sports Information Directors. Friedlander, who maintains a 3.64 grade-point average as a finance major, has had a pair of top 20 finishes this season. He has played 21 rounds in 11 tournaments this year and compiled an 81.16 stroke average. He has twice shot his low round of 76 this season at the JMU Invitational and the Rehoboth Beach Fall Invitational. As a freshman, Friedlander won the Western Maryland Fall Invitational by shooting a 70 on Oct. 3, 1999 at Westminster, MD. He won A-10 Rookie of the Week honors on April 11, 2000. A member of both the GW Athletic Department Dean's List and the University Dean's List, Friedlander served as president of the A-10 Student-Athlete Advisory Council and vice president of the GW Student-Athlete Advisory Council in 2002-03. Temple's James Chan was named the Atlantic 10 Student-Athlete of the Year. Joining Friedlander and Chan on the men's golf Academic All-Conference team are James Clarke of Rhode Island; A.J. Quinter of Dayton; and St. Bonaventure's Jeff Tracy.
