Golf's Wendelken, Barrack Sweep A-10 Weekly Honors

Sept. 10, 2007

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- George Washington's Tyler Wendelken (Sammamish, WA) and Brendan Barrack (Toronto, Canada) have been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for men's golf, the league office announced Monday.

Wendelken carded a 145 (75-70) to tie for 7th place, eight strokes off the pace, in the season-opening Navy Fall Invitational Saturday and Sunday at Annapolis, MD. Wendelken fired a one-under-par 70 on Sunday to lead the squad to a 10th-place finish in the 17-team field.

The tournament marked the collegiate debut for Barrack who tied for 31st (out of 90 golfers) with a 152 (76-76) on the par-71, 6,528-yard Naval Academy Golf Course.

The Colonials next compete in the 54-hole Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational hosted by Ball St. on Sept. 17-18, in Muncie, IN.
