ANNAPOLIS, MD (Sept. 11, 2000) - GW's Ryan Day likes to play the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course. His two-over-par 144 (73-71) placed him in a five-way tie for seventh place among 104 golfers in the Navy Fall Invitational at Annapolis Saturday and Sunday. The senior from Lamoine, ME, was the low Colonial in the tournament.

In his last visit to the Navy course in April, Day carded a 76 which placed him in a 12-way tie for 12th place among 95 individuals at the Navy Spring Invitational. Both tournaments are played on the par 71, 6,611-yard U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course.

As a team, the Colonials placed 12th (604) among the 20-team field. GW was 27 strokes off the pace set by Richmond's 577. Rutgers was second at 580 followed by Rollins College (582).
