Golf Tees Off at Elon Phoenix Invitational

TEEING OFF: The GW golf team tees off in its penultimate tournament of the fall season on Monday in Burlington, North Carolina, for the Elon Phoenix Invitational. All eight Colonials will play in the tournament; GW's five team entrants will be Logan Lowe, Christian Cichan, Adrian Castagnola, Vince Palazzolo and Yoo Jin Kim. Stephen Brown, Jack Porcelli and Clifford Thompson will play as individuals.

FORMAT: The tournament features 36 holes on Monday with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start, and 18 holes Tuesday with tee times starting at 9 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT: Lowe recorded his first top-10 finish of the season with a 4-under par 212 at the NC State Wolfpack Invitational. Spurring his T-6th result was a school record 8-under 64 in the second round.

BACK AT THE PHOENIX: Last year at the Phoenix Invitational, Lowe recorded what was at the time the best finish of his career with a T-6th showing. He shot a 6-under 207 including a 67 and 66 in the first two rounds before closing with a 74.

WARRIOR TRIBUTE: In GW's ongoing tribute to veterans, Vince Palazzolo carried the Warrior Tribute bag in honor of James B. Herring at the team's last tournament. This week, junior Logan Lowe will carry the bag in honor of Ben Dillinger.
