TEEING OFF: GW golf heads to its final competition of the fall season this weekend with the South Carolina Camden Collegiate Invitational. Representing GW will be Logan Lowe, Adrian Castagnola, Jack Porcelli, Christian Cichan and Clifford Thompson.

FORMAT: The 17-team field will play 36 holes on Saturday and 18 on Sunday. Live scoring is available at

LAST TIME OUT: The Colonials set the school record for low tournament score with a three-day total of 854 (+2) to finish third at the Elon Phoenix Invitational on Tuesday. Both Lowe and Castagnola recorded top-10 finishes. Lowe closed with a 4-under 67 to finish -6 and tied for fourth, while Castagnola was just a shot behind at 5-under and tied for sixth.

CATCHING FIRE: As a team, GW has turned in two rounds which are among the lowest in school history this semester. The Colonials’ 7-under 277 in the first round of the Phoenix Invitational (Oct. 16) is tied for the second-lowest relative to par in school history. The 5-under 283 in the second round of the Falcon Invite (Sept. 9) is fifth lowest.

PLAYERS, TOO: Lowe broke his own school record for low round earlier this month when he shot an 8-under 64 in the second round of the Wolfpack Intercollegiate (Oct. 2). He’s been under par in eight of his 12 rounds and leads the team with a 70.50 scoring average. Castagnola’s 65 was a personal best and Porcelli set his career best with a 67 at the Falcon Invite (Sept. 9).

ON THE UPSWING: Lowe has improved his finish in each tournament this season and is coming off back-to-back top-10s. After starting with a T-24th at the Falcon Invite, he’s finished T-12th (VCU Janney Invitational), T-6th (Wolfpack Intercollegiate) and T-4th (Phoenix Invitational).
