International Racing: Sat six seat of the United States U23 Men's Eight that placed 4th at the 2017 U23 World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
2016-17 Season: Sat five seat of the first varsity eight for the whole season that swept the 2017 George Washington Invitational...placed 5th in the second-level final at the Eastern Sprints Regatta (5:42.233) to finish 11th overall...at the IRA Regatta, Hobert helped the boat win the third-level final (5:41.639) for a national ranking of 14th...IRA All-Academic Team.
Summer 2016: Sat two seat of the GW's second varsity four that raced the Visitors' Challenge Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta in Henley-on-Thames, England, GW's first appearance in the international regatta... rowed for the Pennsylvania Athletic Club Rowing Association (Penn AC), where he placed second in the quadruple scull at the USRowing U23 World Championship Trials...placed second in the U23 Men's pair event at the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta.
2015-16 Season: Sat six seat of the freshman eight that placed fourth at Princeton Chase behind Cal, Harvard, and Cornell, and went undefeated in spring competition... sat two seat of the first varsity eight for the entirety of the season that placed second in the third-level final at the Eastern Sprints Regatta (5:48.957) to finish 14th overall...finished sixth in the third-level final at the IRA Regatta (6:05.46) for a final national ranking of 18th...IRA All-Academic Team.
High School/Club: Helped LPJ-Chicago Rowing Foundation to win 2013 Midwest Junior Rowing Championships... placed seventh in 2014 and sixth in 2015 in youth eight at Youth National Championships... recipient of 2013 Novice Captains Award and 2015 Most Outstanding Oarsman Award ... played tennis in 2012, helping Whitney M. Young Magnet High School to win both the Team City Championship and Doubles City Championship... graduated in the top 15% of his class.
