WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's and women's rowing teams have announced the competing teams for the 2013 George Washington Rowing Invitational, as well as special alumni events to be held April 12-13 on the Potomac River.
The event, which began in 1988, is the largest collegiate rowing competition in the Washington metropolitan area.
Men's crews from George Washington, Georgetown, the United States Naval Academy, Holy Cross, Virginia and Florida Institute of Technology will compete for the Oliver T. Carr Bowl, while women's teams from George Washington, Georgetown, Navy, Saint Joseph's, M.I.T. and Gonzaga will compete for the Howard W. Wilkins Bowl.
The team with the highest overall point total will receive the Gilbert H. Hood, Jr. Trophy. An alumni luncheon will be held on Saturday, April 13 from 11:00 a.m.-1 p.m. followed by an Alumni Banquet on Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
