Now in its 26th year, the GW Invitational will welcome men's programs from Georgetown, Navy, Virginia, UC San Diego and Holy Cross.
GW will row two freshmen boats (F8, 2F8), a JV8 and a Varsity 8 against Virginia (Friday beginning at 2:50 p.m.), Holy Cross (Saturday beginning at 9:50 a.m.) and Navy (Saturday beginning at 3:20 p.m.).
The Colonials will be competing for the Oliver T. Carr Bowl, which is awarded to the highest-scoring men's program at the event. Fifteen points will be awarded to the winner of the Varsity 8 races while 12 points will go to the winner in both the JV8 and Freshmen 8 races. No points are awarded for second place.
This weekend marks the third event of the spring for the men's rowing team after the two-day Pennsylvania Invitational in late March and last weekend's San Diego Crew Classic, where the Colonials' Varsity 8 advanced to the Grand Final.
