GW Alumni to Host Gathering at Head of the Charles Regatta, Oct. 19-20

WASHINGTON - For the second straight year, the George Washington Office of Alumni Relations, in conjunction with the GW Boston Alumni group, is hosting an alumni gathering at the 49th Annual Head of the Charles Regatta, the most prestigious rowing event in the United States.
The event will be headquartered at a GW tent in "Reunion Village," where snacks and soft drinks will be available throughout each day of competition.
The Head of the Charles Regatta was founded in 1965 and has evolved into the largest two-day rowing event in the world. The 49th annual installment will feature more than 9,000 athletes from 19 countries competing in 55 events in front of over 300,000 spectators.
The two-day event begins on Saturday, October 19 where an alumni gathering will be held in Reunion Village from 12-3 p.m. The GW Women's Alumni boat races at 12:51 p.m., and the men's alumni boat races at 1:57 p.m.
Sunday's gathering will be held from 1-4 p.m. during the Colonials' varsity races. The women's Varsity 8 launches at 3:16 p.m., followed by the men's Varsity 8 (3:04 p.m.) and the men's Varsity 4 (2:41 p.m.).
