FARMVILLE, Va. - The George Washington men's soccer squad tallied its fourth clean sheet of the season on Tuesday evening with a 2-0 victory on the road over Longwood at the Lancers' Athletic Complex.

GW (3-2-3) received a stellar performance from sophomore keeper Thor Arne Höfs in goal, matching a career-high eight saves in the victory.

Höfs got right to business, making his first save in the 10th minute and his second in the 25th minute before the Colonials jumped ahead on their first shot of the night.

In the 35th minute, freshman George Dise sent a free kick from 35 yards out into the box where senior Tobi Adewole placed a header into the back of the net. The goal marked Adewole's first of the season, while Dise earned his first career point on the play.

Adewole took another shot in the 44th minute, but his attempt was blocked as the Colonials took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Höfs picked up where he left off in the second half, notching three saves within a 5:35 span early in the stanza.

GW continued to battle as senior Garrett Heine's shot in the 60th minute was blocked and a header by junior Christian Lawal went wide just seconds later.

The squads exchanged shots for the next eight minutes before Heine fired two attempts within a 40 second span beginning in the 69th minute, but the first was saved and the second landed wide as Longwood remained within one.

GW increased its lead in in the 88th minute when Heine sent a through ball to Lawal in the middle of the box. Lawal then sent the ball on the ground through a diving keeper to give the Colonials a 2-0 victory. The goal was Lawal's second of the season.

Heine matched a game-high with four shots on the day.

The Buff and Blue return to action on Sunday to conclude a stretch of four consecutive road matches at Robert Morris.
