AMHERST, MA - A pair of second-half goals by George Washington University sophomore Greg McKay (Brookeville, MD) was just enough to help lead the Colonials men's soccer team into overtime against Massachusetts Friday afternoon, but GW could not produce the game-winner in two overtimes and the game ended in a 2-2 draw in Atlantic 10 Conference action at Rudd Field. The two-goal game marks the first of McKay's career and his second and third goals of the season.
Following a Minutemen goal early in the second half that made the score 2-0, McKay put GW on the board five minutes later in the 56th minute with a header that found the net off a feed from freshman David Leon (Williston Park, NY).
Later in the half at the 76-minute mark, McKay put home his second goal of the game to even the score at 2-2. Senior Steve Brown (Stony Point, NY) and sophomore Abimbola Pedro (Lagos, Nigeria) each collected an assist on the play.
GW (4-6-3, 1-3-1 A-10) returns to action when it travels to Kingston, RI, on Sunday, Oct. 23, to take on A-10 member Rhode Island at 1 p.m.
