Osborne Scores Two Goals in Victory
Oct. 25, 2002
BRONX, NY - Senior forward Matthew Osborne (Bingham, Notts, Eng./Toothill Comprehensive) scored his 11th and 12th goals of the season to lead the Colonials to a 3-0 victory versus Fordham.
GW (9-6-0, 5-2-0) continued their torrid play as of late, extending their season-high win-streak to five games. Junior goalkeeper Eric Lund (Wasilla, AK/Bradenton Academy (FL)) recorded his fourth shutout of the season, and raised his scoreless streak total to 269 minutes over the past three matches.
Osborne scored his first goal of the day at the 20:04 mark when he put away a cross through the box from junior forward Fabio Andrade (Stoughton, MA/Xaverian Brothers), to put the Colonials up 1-0. He would add his second score of the match 20 minutes later off another cross from junior midfielder Jeremy Catlin (Clarksville, MD/Oakland Mills).
GW added another score late in the match when freshman Steve Brown (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland) scored his first collegiate goal, heading one past FU's goalkeeper when junior back Justin Evans (Worthington, OH/Thomas Worthington) volleyed a pass through the box.
The Colonials travel to Philadelphia, PA to face La Salle University in their next match on Sunday, October 27, in a 1:00 p.m. match.
