Rudolph Hat Trick Lifts Men's Soccer in Season Finale

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The George Washington men's soccer team scored three goals in the opening 20 minutes and sophomore Seth Rudolph tallied his second hat trick of the season to help the Colonials cruise past Saint Joseph's, 4-0, in their season finale at Finnesey Field Sunday.
Rudolph scored in the 8th, 13th and 86th minutes and senior Marcus Ranney tallied in the 20th minute as the Colonials matched their highest scoring output of the season.
Senior goalkeeper Erik Haug made seven saves in his GW finale for his first clean sheet of the season and fifth of his career. Defensive starters Jamie LaFleur, Brice Carr, Daniel Ripperger-Suhler and Andrew Aluko helped the Colonials to their second shutout of the season.
Aluko assisted Rudolph's game-winning goal, sophomore Mattia Melillo got the assist on Rudolph's second goal and junior Aldin Dervisevic scored his first collegiate point by setting up Rudolph's breakaway third goal.
Rudolph wraps his sophomore season with 10 goals, second-most in the Atlantic 10 through regular-season play. He has 14 goals and 30 points in 35 career matches.
SJU's (2-15-0, 1-8-0 A-10) Michael Moulton made one save in 78 minutes of action, while Conor Mulville allowed a goal in the final 12 minutes in goal.
GW finishes the 2010 campaign 3-15-0 overall and 1-8-0 in A-10 action. The Colonials are slated to return 23 letterwinners and nine starters for the 2011 season.
