Davis Named to Preseason All-Rookie Team

PHILADELPHIA, PA - George Washington freshman back Matt Davis was selected to the Atlantic 10 men's soccer Preseason All-Rookie Team on July 30. Davis was one of 11 incoming players picked to the squad by the conference's coaches.

Davis, a native of Upper Marlboro, MD, served as captain of the Baltimore Bays Boys Soccer Club and helped the squad advance to two United States regionals. He will add depth to a George Washington defense that gave up slightly less than two goals per game last season.

George Washington has had at least one player named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team in three of the last four seasons.

The Colonials will open the 2004 campaign against Howard on Saturday, September 4 at 12:00 p.m. in the DC College Cup Tournament held at American University.
