KANSAS CITY, KS - George Washington men's soccer senior Andy Stadler is one of 38 players on the 2009 Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy Watch List, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced August 11.

The MAC's Hermann Trophy is presented annually by the NSCAA to the top male and female collegiate soccer players.

Stadler, the Atlantic 10 Conference's leading returning scorer, was a first team All-Atlantic 10 and first team All-Region selection last fall after pacing GW with 31 points and 14 goals and finishing in the Top 5 in the nation in points and goals per game.

The first GW player to earn first team All-Region honors in 19 seasons, Stadler's 31 points were the eighth-most in a single season in program history. The two-time A-10 Player of the Week and DC College Cup MVP also tied for the league lead with six game-winning goals.

Stadler enters his senior season ranked 10th all-time at GW with 22 goals and 57 points in 47 career matches.

A total of three players from the A-10 Conference were named to the watch list, including Temple's J.T. Noone and Massachusetts' Ben Arikian.

Considered the highest individual honor in college soccer, the recipients of the Hermann Trophy are selected by Division I head coaches who are current members of the NSCAA. The 48 players on the watch list will be narrowed down to 15 semifinalists in November, and the three finalists will be selected in early December. The winner of the Hermann Trophy will be announced on January 8, 2010, in St. Louis, MO.
