WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's soccer team plays its final exhibition match of the season Thursday at 5:00 p.m. against District foe Catholic at Mount Vernon Field.

Fans can follow live game stats via GameTracker and participate in the live game blog.

GW split its first two exhibition matches - a 3-0 victory at James Madison last Thursday and a 1-0 loss to CAA favorite Old Dominion at Mount Vernon on Sunday. Senior Mike Burke scored twice and classmate Jake Davis added the other tally against the Dukes, while junior goalkeeper Brendan Lafferty did not allow a goal in 90 combined minutes between the two contests.

Catholic, a NCAA Division III member, is the two-time defending Landmark Conference champion and has made consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. The Cardinals return 12 letterwinners and four starters from last year's 11-6-4 team, headlined by leading scorers Ian Smith (9g, 19p) and Mike Brennan (6g, 14p).

The Colonials will shift focus to regular-season play and the non-conference portion of the schedule following Thursday's final exhibition. GW will take on American and Howard in the season-opening DC College Cup at George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Va., Sept. 1 and 3.
