Men's Soccer Defeats VMI, 1-0, in Double Overtime

LEXINGTON, VA (Sept. 8, 2000) - GW midfielder Matt Pilkington scored with 22 seconds left in the second overtime period off a feed from Jason Holloway to propel the Colonials to a 1-0 victory over Virginia Military Institute Friday, September 8 on the VMI Parade Ground in Lexington, VA.

GW senior goalkeeper Nick Parypinski recorded four saves on the afternoon while junior John Simmons recorded six for the Keydets. GW improved to 2-1 on the season while VMI fell to 1-1. GW next hosts St. Francis (NY) Tuesday, Sept. 12, in a 2:00 p.m. match at South Riding Field in Loudoun County, VA.
