Stadler Named A-10 Men's Soccer Co-Player of the Week
Stadler Leads Nation in Goals Per Game
Sept. 23, 2008
PHILADELPHIA, PA - George Washington men's soccer junior Andy Stadler (Wauwatosa, WI/Wauwatosa West) was tabbed Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Stadler scored three goals as GW posted victories over regional rivals Navy and American last week.
Stadler provided all the offense GW (3-2-1) needed in road victories at Navy and American, netting the game-winner in the 54th minute against the Midshipmen on Sept. 16, and scoring the decisive tally in the first half and an insurance goal in the second half in Saturday's 2-0 victory over the Eagles.
Stadler ranks first nationally with 1.17 goals per game and is tied for second in the country with 2.50 points per game in the latest NCAA Statistics report updated Monday. With 15 points on seven goals and an assist through six matches this season, Stadler has increased his career totals to 41 points on 15 goals and 11 assists in just 37 matches.
GW visits Mount St. Mary's (3-3-0) Saturday in its third of six consecutive road matches. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
