Matt Osborne Scores in Fifth Straight Match, Parypinski Records Fourth Shut Out
Washington, DC - (October 7, 2000) Nick Parypinski (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) made six saves on 15 shots at La Salle to preserve an early lead and ensure the Colonials' third straight conference victory.
Matt Osborne (Bingham Notts, England/Toothill Comprehensive School) continued his hot streak by scoring his team-leading ninth goal of the season. Osborne has now scored in five straight matches dating back to a September 20 game against George Mason University.
Osborne scored the only goal of the match when he headed a pass into the net in the second minute from Jason Holloway (Milwaukee, WI/Marquette Univ. HS) on a feed from Matt Pilkington (Manchester, England/Sheffield Hallam Univ.).
Parypinski took charge from there, denying the Explorers for the next 88 minutes and notching his fourth shut out on the season. Parypinski lowered his season goals-against-average to a stingy .87 overall and .33 in Atlantic 10 conference play.
The Colonials (6-2-2, 3-0 A-10) next travel to Fordham to battle the Rams (4-6, 1-2 A-10) Sunday.
