Michael Rollings Named Men's Soccer A-10 Rookie of the Week

Oct. 17, 2005

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington University men's soccer player Michael Rollings (Olney, MD/Sherwood) was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for his performance Friday against Saint Joseph's, the conference announced.

Rollings came off the bench to score two goals, including the game winner, and also notched an assist in GW's 6-1 A-10 victory over Saint Joseph's Friday afternoon at the Mount Vernon Athletic Complex.

Rollings' five points tallied in the match were his first as a Colonial.

The Olney, MD native helped guide Sherwood High School to a 16-3-1 record and the Maryland 4A Championship as a senior in 2004.

Rollings scored 22 goals and contributed eight assists and earned first-team All-Met honors from the Washington Post.

GW travels to Amherst, MA on Friday to face UMass and then plays Rhode Island on Sunday.

The team returns to Mount Vernon next Friday, Oct. 28th, to meet Saint Louis.
