WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington freshman men's soccer player Andrew Stadler was tabbed the Atlantic 10 Conference's Co-Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Stadler played a part in both of GW's goals in a 2-1 victory over Xavier on Sunday, assisting an equalizing goal in the first half and tallying the game-winner in the second half. The goal was the first of his collegiate career, while the assist was his team-high tying fourth of the season. Stadler, along with freshman teammate Mike Briscoe, was a preseason A-10 All-Rookie Team selection in July.
Stadler split the award with Saint Louis rookie goalkeeper Ross Kaufman, who posted two shutouts in a 2-0-0 week for the league-leading Billikens.
GW (5-7-3, 2-3-2 A-10) is in the mix for an A-10 Championship berth with two matches remaining. The Colonials will play at Richmond on Tuesday, October 24, before wrapping up the regular season at La Salle on Sunday, October 29.
