A-10 Tabs GW's Michael Rollings As Rookie of the Week

Oct. 31, 2005

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington University men's soccer player Michael Rollings (Olney, MD/Sherwood) was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Rookie of the Week for his performance Friday against Saint Louis University, the Conference announced.

Rollings scored both goals in the Colonials' 2-0 victory against SLU Friday afternoon at Mount Vernon.

Rollings' first score came in the 53rd minute when he broke a scoreless game with a goal.

He then put GW ahead 2-0 20 minutes later when he dribbled in from 25-yards out to score his second goal, unassisted.

The Billikens' loss was their first conference defeat this year.

The game was Rollings' second multi-goal performance this season.

He currently stands second on the team with four goals.

The honor is the second for Rollings this season as he was also named the Conference's Rookie of the Week on Oct. 17th.

GW plays its final game of the 2005 season on Saturday, Nov. 5th, against La Salle at Mount Vernon.
