WASHINGTON - George Washington men's soccer has earned the No. 3 seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship and will host sixth-seeded Rhode Island on Saturday in a 1 p.m. quarterfinal at GW Soccer Field on the Mount Vernon Campus.

The winner advances to face either No. 2 VCU or No. 7 St. Bonaventure in a semifinal at Dayton's Baujan Field on Nov. 10. The final will be two days later on the same field, with the winner claiming the conference's automatic NCAA bid.

GW (9-6-2, 6-2 A-10) closed the season with four straight A-10 wins to earn a spot in the tournament field for the second time in three years and 13th time overall. The Colonials finished just behind regular season champion Massachusetts (6-1-1) in the conference standings and tied with VCU and No. 4 Dayton.

Rhode Island closed the regular season at 4-3-1 in A-10 play and 9-5-3 overall. The Rams beat GW, 2-1, on Sept. 30 in Kingston, R.I., to begin the conference schedule.

Admission to the GW-hosted quarterfinal is free. All three rounds of the championship will be streamed free on the A-10 Network and are also available on mobile devices through the A-10 app.
