Pedro, Stadler Named to A-10 Men's Soccer All-Conference Second Team
Nov. 14, 2007
Stadler (20 points) and Pedro (19) finished fourth and fifth in the Atlantic 10 in scoring, respectively. Despite missing five matches due to injury, Stadler still finished second in the league with 1.43 points-per-game on a team-best seven goals and six assists. Stadler, who was an A-10 All-Rookie Team selection in 2006, notched a point in seven consecutive matches at one point and was named to the DC College Cup All-Tournament Team this fall.
Pedro led the Colonials with seven assists and added six goals despite sitting out three matches with an injury. An honorable mention All-Conference pick two seasons ago, Pedro was named to the All-Tournament teams at both the DC College Cup and Longwood Lancer Invitational this season.
Stadler and Pedro are the men's soccer program's 10th and 11th All-Conference second team selections overall.
McKay and Stuber are the first GW men's soccer players to be named Academic All-Conference since Matt Osborne earned the honor in both 2001 and 2002. McKay, a history and philosophy major who tallied three goals this fall, was named to ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-District II First Team earlier this month and is in the running for national Academic All-America accolades. Stuber, a psychology major, has been named to the Academic All-District II Second Team the past two seasons and finished with three assists this year.
GW won its last two matches to finish 9-8-2 overall, the program's first winning season since 2004. The Colonials posted a 6-4-0 mark in non-conference play, highlighted by their first-ever DC College Cup title and a 2-0 victory over intra-District rival Georgetown. GW was 3-4-2 in league play and missed the six-team A-10 Tournament by three points.
