Men's Soccer's Heine Earns All-Region Honors

NSCAA All-Midwest Region Teams

Kansas City, Mo. - GW men's soccer senior Garrett Heine has been named to the NSCAA All-Midwest Region Second Team after a stellar season for the Buff and Blue.

The 2016 Atlantic 10 Midfielder of the Year, Heine led the Colonials with 19 points on seven goals and five assists in his final campaign, including two game-winning goals against A-10 foes. After starting each of GW's 18 matches this season, Heine ranked third on the squad with 1,492 minutes on the pitch.

Heine posted a career week in October, scoring a combined four goals with one assist against George Mason and Saint Joseph's to earn National Player of the Week honors from CollegeSoccerNews.com and the NSCAA. The San Diego, California, native was named A-10 Offensive Player of the Week twice in 2016.

Heine earns NSCAA All-Region honors for the second time in his career after garnering Third Team distinction in 2015.
