WASHINGTON - The No. 20 George Washington men's squash team returned to action following a 43-day layoff on Tuesday afternoon, falling to defending National Champion and No. 1 Trinity, 9-0, at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts at Lerner Health and Wellness Center.
Trinity (3-0), winners of 14 of the last 15 College Squash Association (CSA) National Championships, won each match in straight sets.
GW (3-3) returns to action on January 15 with a visit to Annapolis, Md., to face No. 14 Navy at 5:00 p.m.
In an exhibition match today, sophomore Anna Gabriela Porras of the women's squash team defeated the No. 11 player for Trinity, George Tilgham, in five sets.
Porras is 3-1 this season for the Colonials after being named the program's first ever CSA All-American following her freshman season.
The women's squash team is currently ranked No. 12 in the latest CSA National Poll and returns to action on Sunday with a visit to No. 9 Brown in Providence, R.I. Match time is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
