No. 17 Men's Squash Tops No. 21 Drexel, 7-2

WASHINGTON - The No. 17 George Washington men's squash team topped No. 21 Drexel, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts at Lerner Health & Wellness Center. GW (10-7) earned its third straight win and returns to action tomorrow in Providence, R.I., at No.18 Brown. All seven of GW's wins came in straight sets with senior Omar Sobhy leading the way over Ibrahim Bakir at No. 1, 11-4, 13-11, 11-5. Freshman Ahmed Abdel-Latif dropped his first set at No. 2 but rallied for a 5-11, 11-5, 1-18, 11-6, win. The Colonials suffered losses at Nos. 3 and 4, but the bottom half of the ladder did its part, going 5-0 at Nos. 5-9 with wins by freshmen Reid Breck and Browning Platt, sophomore David Moxley and juniors Larkin Brinkworth and Chris Bell. Three of the five wins were in straight sets. The Colonials have a quick turnaround as they travel to Providence, R.I., for a Sunday afternoon match at No. 18 Brown at 6:30 p.m.
