No. 13 Men’s Squash Falls in Hoehn Cup Semifinals

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 13 George Washington men’s squash team got two wins at the top of the ladder but was unable to get past No. 9 Dartmouth, falling 7-2, in the Hoehn Cup (B-Division) semifinals on Saturday afternoon at the College Squash Association National Championships at the Murr Center.

Junior Oisin Logan won in four games over Carson Spahr at No. 2 by scores of 9-11, 11-7, 11-8, 11-9, while sophomore Moudy Abdel-Maksoud earned an 11-5, 12-10, 11-5 sweep over Brandon De Otaduy at No. 3. Freshman Jamie Oakley also stole a game at No. 1 in a 3-1 loss.

The Colonials suffered tough losses at Nos. 4-9, as Dartmouth advanced to the Hoehn Cup Championship match where they will face Princeton or Cornell on Sunday.

GW will take on the loser of tonight’s Princeton-Cornell match on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. The winner of that match will conclude the season as the No. 11 team in the nation.
