No. 16 Men's Squash Handles Connecticut College, 9-0
Colonials Back in Action at Amherst on Saturday

HARTFORD, Conn. - The No. 16 George Washington men's opened its first of four matches this weekend with a 9-0 sweep of No. 22 Connecticut College on Friday evening.
GW (5-1) was in control from the outset on the way to winning five-of-nine matches in straight sets.
The Colonials needed four-set wins from freshmen James Reiss (No. 4), Reid Breck (No. 6) and junior Larkin Brinkworth (No. 5) at the middle of the ladder to clinch their fifth win of the young season.
Senior Player Haynes went the distance at No. 8 against Santiago Moran, taking a 1-0 lead before dropping the next two games. Brinkworth rebounded for an 11-8 win in the fourth and took the match with a 12-10 win in the fifth.
Senirors Islam El-Fiky and Omar Sobhy, along with freshman Ahmed Abdel-Latif paced the Colonials with straight-set wins at Nos. 1-3. Following suit were junior Sam Ehrlich and freshman Browning Platt.
GW will face No. 21 Amherst in Amherst, Mass., on Saturday at 2 p.m.
