Men’s Squash Reveals 2017-18 Match Schedule

WASHINGTON – The George Washington men’s squash team will face seven teams that finished last season in the top 10 in the College Squash Association (CSA) National Poll, including a home date with defending National Champion Trinity, as part of its 20-match regular season schedule in 2017-18, head coach Wendy Lawrence has announced.

GW concluded the 2016-17 season with a final national ranking of No. 11, to tie the highest end-of-season ranking in program history. The Colonials welcome back eight players for this season and have added six student-athletes as the program looks to break into the Potter Cup (A-Division) of the CSA National Championship for the first time in team history.

In addition to hosting reigning National Champion Trinity on November 18, the Colonials will clash with top-10 programs No. 10 Princeton (Nov. 19) at home, as well as No. 9 Dartmouth (Dec. 2), No. 3 St. Lawrence (Jan. 13), No. 8 Yale (Jan. 27), No. 4 Columbia (Jan. 28), and No. 6 Drexel (Feb. 9) on the road.

GW opens its 2017-18 campaign against William & Mary on November 10 at the Matthew J. Grossman Squash Courts at Lerner Health & Wellness Center. Additional home matches include meetings with Davidson (Nov. 11), No. 18 Virginia (Nov. 28), No. 22 Dickinson (Dec. 3), and No. 35 Georgetown (Feb. 2).

The Colonials will also visit No. 16 Bates (Jan. 14), No. 23 Colby (Jan. 14), No. 13 Navy (Jan. 17), No. 12 Cornell (Jan. 19), No. 20 Williams (Jan. 20), No. 15 Franklin & Marshall (Feb. 3), and No.17 Middlebury (Feb. 10) during the season.
