GW Men's Squash's James Reiss Named CSA Player of the Week
Freshman's Two Wins Earn First Career Honor

WASHINGTON - George Washington men's squash freshman James Reiss was named the Harrow Sports College Squash Association's (CSA) Male Player of the Week after helping the Colonials to an upset of No. 9 Penn last weekend.
The 16th-ranked Colonials hosted 15th-ranked Bates and 9th-ranked Penn on November 24. In GW's 5-4 loss to Bates, Reiss defeated Walter Cabot in four games (11-6, 8-11, 11-4, 11-7).
With the match against Penn tied 4-4, the match at the No. 4 position featured Reiss and John Dudzik. Reiss won a marathon five-game match (11-5, 11-7, 5-11, 6-11, 11-9), clinching the upset for the Colonials.
Reiss' individual record stands at 5-0 in his debut season, with three wins at No. 4 and two wins at No. 3. The Fairfield, Conn., native is one of six GW players with an undefeated individual mark.
GW (4-1) will close out the fall portion of its schedule this weekend with a quartet of matches against ranked opponents. On Friday the Colonials will visit No. 22 Connecticut College in Hartford, Conn., before heading to Amherst, Mass., to face No. 21 Amherst on Saturday. On Sunday, GW will return to Hartford for a doubleheader with No. 18 Colby and No. 2 Trinity.
