2013-14: Had standout season first season with Colonials...Named team MVP...Member of five school record-setting performances, including two individual races and three relays at the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championships (Feb. 19)...Earned silver at the league meet in the 200-yard butterfly with a school-record time of 1:48.12...Took home bronze in the 200-yard individual medley with a season-best time of 1:49.65 at the A-10 Championships, ranking third on the Colonials' all-time top times list...Finished fourth in the 100 fly in 49.0 seconds, erasing a 15-year-old GW mark...Swam leadoff leg of school record-setting 800 free relay that finished fourth at the A-10 Championships in 6:35.92...Swam final legs of record-tying 200 medley relay (1:31.32) that finished fifth and 400 medley relay (3:19.45) that finished that finished fourth and surpassed a 16-year-old record...Splits in the 100 free (45.49), good for fourth on GW's all-time list, and 200 free (1:38.91), which ranks third, were season-best times...Tallied four first-place finishes and set two meet records in the 100 fly (51.38) and 200 fly (1:54.62) at the America-Catholic-Loyola quad-meet (Oct. 12)...Finished third in the 400 IM at the Patriot Invitational (Nov. 22) with a season-fastest time of 4:02.93, good for eighth on GW's all-time list...Named to GW Athletics Academic Dean's List.
Prior to GW: Transferred to GW from Iowa Central Community College...As a rookie, took home second in the 200-yard butterfly, third in the 200-yard individual medley and third in the 400 IM at the NJCAA Championships...Finished third in the 200 IM, third in the 200 fly and fifth in the 400 IM as a sophomore at the NJCAA Championships.
High School: As a junior, finished second in the 200-yard butterfly, third in the 100-yard butterfly and third in the 200-yard individual medley at the Croatian Nationals...Took home third in the 200 IM and the 200 fly as a sophomore...Also competed for OLIMP.
Personal: Born Goran Koprivnjak on May 22, 1991 in Zagreb, Croatia...Son of Biserka and Zdravko Koprivnjak...Has an older sister, Valentina...Majoring in business administration with a concentration in international business.
