Sean Warlick has been named assistant coach of the men's and women's swimming program in August of 2011.

A native of Iowa, Warlick comes to GW after spending the past two years at Occidental College in Los Angeles. He served as assistant swimming coach from Aug. 2009 to April 2011 before becoming interim coach and aquatics director for the Tigers this past summer.

Warlick spent two years as an assistant coach with the Golden West Swim Club in Huntington Beach, Calif., and served as an assistant coach for Fort Dodge YMCA and Circle Swim Awuatics in Iowa. He is also an American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) Level 2 Certified instructor.

A four-year member and captain of the Grinnell College men's swimming team, Warlick still ranks among the Pioneers' all-time top-20 in the 200-yard individual medley and the 200-yard freestyle relay events.

Warlick graduated from Grinnell in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in history and will begin the master's program in exercise science at GW this fall.
