URI Invitational Day 1 Results Get Acrobat Reader

WASHINGTON -- GW men's freshman swimmer Niklas Glenesk took second place in the 500-yard freestyle on the first day at the Rhode Island Invitational, with a time of 4:48.13. Fellow freshman Stephen Nelson finished fifth (4:52.25).

Freshman Stephan Franke took fourth in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:00.91.

For the women's squad, senior captain Katrina Timlin posted a time of 25.89, good for sixth, in the 50-yard freestyle. Timlin's time is just 1.11 second off her personal best in the event (24.60).

The 400-yard medley relay team of Emily Leik, Jennifer Cohn, Sarah Beggs, and Timlin posted a time of 4:12.59 for fifth place.

Both squads begin day two at the URI Invitational at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 16.
