Men's Swimming Breezes Past Georgetown, 117.5-104.5

WASHINGTON, DC - Freshmen Andrew Maguire and Dan Thomann, as well as junior David Zenk won two individual events apiece as the George Washington Colonials breezed past the Georgetown Hoyas, 117.5-104.5 Sunday at Charles E. Smith Athletic Center. Freshman Konrad Kopczynski was also victorious as the Colonials had wins in eight events and swept the top three in the 100-yard freestyle. Maguire won both the 200-yard butterfly and 200-yard breaststroke in times of 159:02 and 2:11.92, respectively. Thomann swept the diving events with 181.0 points in the one-meter and 190.95 points in the three-meter. Zenk won both the 400-yard IM and 500-yard freestyle in 4:09.39 and 4:48.10, respectively. Zenk also was a member of a victorious 400-yard freestyle relay team along with Kopczynski, freshman David Meyer and sophomore Rick Rogers in 3:14.15. Kopczynski won the 100-yard freestyle in 48.99 and was followed closely by Meyer and sophomore Stephen Cosme in 50.03 and 50.13, respectively. Colonials swimming & diving wraps up their home season Friday, January 25 when they host Army at 3:00 pm. Friday's meet is also senior day as seniors Drew Boudreau, Mark DeSimone and Danny Johnson will appear in their final home meet.
