Men's Swimming Falls To George Mason, 122-96 in Regular Season Finale

FAIRFAX, VA - Despite a pair of wins from junior David Zenk and another title by freshman Andrew Maguire, the George Washington men's swimming & diving team fell to George Mason, 122-96, in GW's regular season finale Saturday afternoon.

Zenk won both the 200-yard IM and 200-yard backstroke in times of 1:54.18 and 1:54.87, respectively. The St. Louis, MO, native also swam the opening leg of the 400-yard medley relay, which defeated the Patriots in 3:35.84. Zenk's opening leg of 51.29 gave GW a 4.5 second lead. Also competing for The Colonials' relay team was Maguire, junior Tom Pullen and freshman Konrad Kopczynski.

Aside from swimming a 53.90 third leg of the 400-yard medley relay, also won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:13.96. Maguire also placed second in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:01.47.

Men's swimming & diving is off for 18 days before the Atlantic 10 Championships in Buffalo, NY. This year's conference championships are hosted by St. Bonaventure, Wed-Sat, Feb. 20-23.
