GW Wraps Up 2009-10 Season at Final Day of A-10s

BUFFALO, NY -- The George Washington men's and women's swimming team wrapped up the season Saturday, at the 2010 Atlantic 10 Swimming Championships at Flickinger Aquatics Center. The men's team finished eighth of eight teams, while the women's squad finished tenth of 10.
Freshman Niklas Glenesk opened with a seventh-placed finish in the 1650-yard freestyle, posting a time of 16:12.78 for the seventh-best GW program time in the event. Fellow freshman Duncan Galler finished at 16:36.37, putting him at the ninth best time in program history.
Junior captain Andrew Maguire tapped in 12th with a time of 2:09.31 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
For the women's squad, senior Jennifer Cohn placed 11th in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:24.93, dropping three seconds off her previous personal best in the event. Junior Noelle Miesfeld swam to 10th in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:08.99.
The night was closed with the 400-yard freestyle. Junior Paola Leor led off the women's squad with a new school record of 50.97, the second fastest 100-yard freestyle time of the entire meet. Leor teamed up with freshman Jordan Liedholm and seniors Emily Leik and Katrina Timlin to post a time of 3:33.26, finishing ninth.
