WASHINGTON -- George Washington freshman swimmer Alex Etz was named Atlantic 10 Men's Rookie Swimmer of the Week, Monday for the third time this season.

On Sunday against rival George Mason, the Austin, TX native won the 200-yard backstroke (1:58.60) and swam the third leg on the winning 400-yard medley relay (3:35.91). He also swam the third leg of the 400-yard freestyle that finished second with a time of 3:14.05.

Etz and the Colonials now train for the 2010 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships on Feb. 17-20 in Buffalo, NY.
