George Washington's Peter Nachtwey, Jake Ortiz and Nick Tomczyk are set to compete at the 2018 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships, starting Monday at Rutgers Aquatic Center in Piscataway, N.J.

All three divers qualified for the A final on both boards at the Atlantic 10 Championships last month, helping the Colonials capture their second straight conference title. Now, they'll continue on individually with hopes of qualifying for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, which will be held March 21-24 in Minneapolis.

Nachtwey continued a fantastic freshman season by claiming silver medals in both the 1-meter (298.75) and 3-meter (353.55) competitions in his first trip to the A-10 Championships. The Ohio native set the program record for the 3-meter board on Oct. 21, 2017, when he scored 362.63 against Boston College. He recorded his top 1-meter score in that same meet with 323.02. On platform, he's also the GW record holder after posting 267.35 at the Navy Invitational in January.

Ortiz makes his second straight Zones appearance, coming off fourth (296.10) and fifth place (282.55) finishes on the 1 and 3-meter boards, respectively, at the conference meet. The junior from New York broke his own program 1-meter record against Boston College with 330.67.

Tomczyk is another newcomer who made an instant impact. The Pennsylvania native placed eighth on both 1-meter (262.80) and 3-meter (270.10) at the conference meet. His 3-meter qualifying performance came against Boston College (334.95), while his best 1-meter showing came at Howard (288.15) on Oct. 14, 2017.

The three-day meet consists of a preliminary round and finals on a different board each day. The men will start with 3-meter, then go to 1-meter and finish with platform.

All three Colonials are slated to compete the first two days with Nachtwey also participating on platform. Zone A will advance the top six men on 1-meter, five on 3-meter and five on platform to the NCAA meet.
