Swimming & Diving Opens Dual Meet Schedule
Colonials head to Howard on Saturday
George Washington swimming and diving makes its dual meet debut Saturday at Howard's Burr Gym Pool, starting at 1 p.m. Both squads will face the host Bison with the women also competing against Chowan.
LAST TIME OUT: The Colonials spent last weekend at the FIU Fall Classic. The men finished second out of five squads with the women placing fourth out of seven. Peter Nachtwey was honored as Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week after scoring a combined 25 points between the two diving events.
SCOUTING HOWARD: Both the Bison men and women finished third out of four teams at the season-opening Potomac Relay Invitational last week.
GW picked up a pair of wins last season when these teams met in Foggy Bottom.
SCOUTING CHOWAN: The Hawks placed second at the Converse Women's Invitational in South Carolina last week to begin their season. They compete in the Division II Conference Carolinas.
COMING UP: GW is home for the first time next weekend. The women face Marshall at Charles E. Smith Center Pool on Friday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m., before both squads welcome Boston College the next day at 2:30 p.m. The 2017 men's A-10 Championship banner will be unveiled before the Saturday meet.
