Colonials In Search of First Road Dual Meet Victory
Nov. 1, 2013
WASHINGTON – The George Washington men’s and women’s swimming teams travel to Philadelphia, Pa., this weekend to face Drexel in their second consecutive road dual meet.
Action at Drexel Pool is slated for 1 p.m. Fans can follow live results throughout the meet by downloading the Meet Mobile application to their smart phones and iPad devices.
Both Colonials’ squads fell at nearby UMBC last weekend, as the women’s side was edged, 134-113, and the men were defeated, 145-109. Sophomore Madison Reinker paced the women’s team with top honors in two individual events while senior Caroline Myers won one event and tallied two second-place finishes. The men’s side was led by junior Goran Koprivnjak's four second-place finishes and sophomore Oliver Keegan, who won an event and recorded second- and third-place finishes on the afternoon.
The Dragons’ men’s team is coming off a sweep of Lafayette (208-90), Loyola Maryland (196-103) and Seton Hall (207-89) last weekend, while the women’s team defeated Lafayette (212-88) and Seton Hall (164-136), but fell to Loyola Maryland (163-137).
One season ago, the GW women defeated Drexel, 135-114, at home while the men were edged, 136-124. Following the two-meet road swing, GW returns to the Charles E. Smith Center Pool on Saturday, Nov. 9 to host Towson.
