David Zenk Named A-10 Performer of the Week

Nov. 20, 2006

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington University sophomore David Zenk (St. Louis Country Day School/St. Louis, MO) was named the Atlantic 10 Men's Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday. It is his first swimming & diving conference honor this year after being named Rookie of the Week and Performer of the Week multiple times in the 2005-06 season.

The reigning Atlantic 10 Swimmer of the Year won three individual events and set a Meet Record at the Patriot Invitational, hosted by George Mason this weekend. In the 400-yard individual medley, Zenk established a Meet Record, winning the event in 3:57.73. Zenk was also victorious in the 200-yard backstroke, clocking in at 1:47.43, and the 200-yard individual medley, touching the wall in 1:51.95. Zenk also earned a third place finish in the 100-yard backstroke, and anchored the 800 and 400-yard medley relay teams to second and third place finishes respectively.

GW swimming & diving will be back in the water on Saturday, December 2 in their home opener to take on the Monarchs of Old Dominion University.
