Senior Daniel Raisbeck posts victory at No. 3 singles and teams with sophomore Daniel Balke for win at No. 3 doubles

MONTCLAIR, VA - The George Washington men's tennis team topped James Madison, 7-0, for its second dual-match victory of the season Friday afternoon at the Montclair Country Club. Senior Jake Jopling (Wexford, PA) recorded his first win of the spring season at No. 1 singles to lead the Colonials.
GW was victorious at No. 2 and 3 doubles to earn the first point of the match and take a 1-0 lead. Freshman Sam Salyer (Minneapolis, MN) and sophomore Gordon Daniels (Hilton Head, SC) defeated Brian Clay and Carlin Campbell, 9-8 (11-9), at No. 2, while senior Daniel Raisbeck (Bogota, Colombia) and sophomore Daniel Balke (Portage, MI) eased past Bob Allensworth and Don Davidson, 8-6, for the win at No. 3.
The Colonials sealed the contest in singles play as they won all six matches in straight sets. Jopling earned the win at No. 1 with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph over David Emery, while Raisbeck topped Allensworth 6-4, 6-4. A pair of freshman, Mustafa Genscoy (Istanbul, Turkey) and Elliott Daniels (Hilton Head, SC), also contributed straight set victories at the No. 2 and 4 spots, respectively.
GW (2-1) is back in action on Saturday, Jan. 29, when it faces cross-town rival American at 12:30 p.m. at the Montclair Country Club in Montclair, VA.
